Bin Laden Wants al-Zarqawi Body Released

Source: Fox News

CAIRO, Egypt — Usama bin Laden called on President Bush in an audiotape released Friday to release the body of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi and said Jordan should allow the slain terrorist to be buried in his homeland.

In the 19-minute message, bin Laden paid tribute to al-Zarqawi and said the former Al Qaeda in Iraq leader had been under orders to kill Iraqis who supported U.S. forces in the country. He also vowed more attacks against the United States in the Middle East and Africa.

"We will continue to fight you and your allies everywhere, in Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia and Sudan to run down your resources and kill your men until you return defeated to your nation," he said, addressing Bush. His voice sounded breathy and fatigued at times...

Is it just me, or does this sound like a splendid Idea for a couple of reasons...

  1. A satellite tracking device could easily be concealed on the body of Zarqawi, or
  2. Perhaps we could send one of the IED's back to them... maybe conceal that in a large body cavity, or
  3. To save on shipping because this IS an expensive war, he could be 'parted out' into smaller, more manageable pieces. Heck, Fed-Ex and Brown would fight over that delivery.

Vacation... Finally!

Today was the last day for five whole days!

Tomorrow is the last chance ‘til the end of August for us to use our So Cal Annual passes to the "Happiest Place on Earth", so that's where we'll be. Then I play golf on Saturday with a men's group from church... And yes, we spell the game G.O.L.F. not other four letter words that have become so familiar on the links.
Then Church on Sunday and a Family day. Sunday night we’ll be at the Riverside National Cemetery listening to an Orchestra playing Patriotic music.

Did I say the fourth of July is my favorite holiday of the year?

Anyway, Monday, Bushy and I are going to get together for another 18, and finally, the Fireworks Celebration on Tuesday.

I shared my dream of the perfect fourth with Gunz this morning and it goes something like this:

“In a small town somewhere in Middle America, we (the Family) go to the park that's down town and find a nice shade tree to throw the picnic blanket under. Cold fried chicken and watermelon are on the menu while a small orchestra plays patriotic music in the park gazebo. There might be some cheesy carnival rides across the street in the empty parking lot, and a game of toss or Frisbee quickly ensues. The temperature is a little warm for me but the kids don't mind, and cool off with a glass of lemonade that mom made.
As the sun settles behind the Church on Main Street, the anticipation starts to build, and finally, the music begins and the First Fireworks light up the dark blue sky. The exhilaration I feel seeing the show, and having my family so close cannot be fairly described, but the joy of knowing I'm right where I want to be... With the ones I love, in the Country I love, remembering the Battles that allow my Freedom make for the perfect Holiday.”

Happy Fourth of July to all of you, my online friends. God bless each one of you, whether you like it or not, and God bless America!

5 Year Old Scam is Back

I love this stuff! I got this email this morning...
I actually had a friend that got hammered for about 10 grand! Anyway, enjoy, but for crying out loud, Don't sent this idiot MONEY! You'll never see it again.

Dear sir
This letter may come to you as a surprise... but kindly consider the message, because I am determined to live for posterity. I wish to plead with you to join me in not only serving humanity, but to also benefit in the process. This message could be strange but reality will definitely dawn on you, if you pay some attention to it's contents. I wouldn't have notified you but for the sake of your integrity and goodwill ... no intentions of causing you any personal pains or discomfort.

I am Zainab Guei the Daughter to the late Ivory Coast president Robert Guei, who was murdered by the rebel leader Lawrence Gbagbor, now Abidjan President in exile. I am 24 yrs old. In my father`s bid to fend off rebel insurgency, he put in my care, the sum of $45 million USD that was his life savings and proceeds he made from private deals of precious stones he transacted and also emerald stones worth $40 million Dollars that was a gift to him still being kept in trunk boxes in a secret location only known to me to which I am the next of kin to... I am presently residing in the Ghana and have borne the burden for too long.

I do not want to keep the funds any longer, but I can never turn it over to the brutal and tyrannical rogue regime of LAwrence Gbagbor who is still in power, still has a lot supporters in power as his members are people that make up the present cabinet... I am not soliciting for your help to wage a war against the regime, but to act as a foreign partner, to allow me transfer the funds to you, and put in good use by donating a portion of it as humanitarian gesture to the Abidjan people by purchasing such essential needs like blankets, milk and so on from the money after deducting your expenses and commission of 20%. Also note that this offer will give you a double-edged advantage : 1. as the benefactor of the Abidjan people and; 2. the commission you stand to earn.

I am believeing that I can trust you with this funds and these stones in your care and also the main point is that,I can not get hold of it because of my refugee statuss here in Ghana and that is why I am asking for your humanitarian mind to please assist me by being my beneficiary to claim this funds from the security company where my father deposited the inheritance.

I have the document covering the appraisal of the emerald stones right here with me and I am willing to send it to you for confirmation. Currently now I am in Ghana for this purpose and residing in a remote village to avoid being seen until this transaction is successfully completed . Zainab Guei

Hadji Girl Update

Hat Tip: Outlaw13

There is some good news in this after all..."HADJI GIRL" MARINE: EXONERATED
By Michelle Malkin · June 27, 2006 02:41 PMI talked last night with Marine Josh Belile, who was targeted by the Haditha exploiters at CAIR for a satirical song he sang to the troops. He has been exonerated and asked me to post his statement:

It's good to be able to breathe again. I have had a lot of support since this all began, and I want everyone to know that I've read every e-mail, and every message that came my way, and out of nearly 1300 messages, I had one single message that was negative. I can definitely say that this could have been a blessing in disguise. Before this all began, not many people knew of my band, The Sweater Kittenz... and we just played a concert at the largest venue in my local area this past Friday. For the rest of this story go HERE

ACLU and MSM Working in Concert to avert the War On Terror

Hat Tip: Jay on 06-27-06 @ 12:31 pm
Filed under ACLU, War On Terror, News
At the ACLU’s website we are hearing the shouts of “victory” over the FBI!

The American Civil Liberties Union today declared victory in their legal battle with the FBI over a Connecticut library group’s right to keep patron records private. After dropping their vehement defense of the gag provision accompanying the request, the FBI has now abandoned the demand all together.

“First the government abandoned the gag order that would have silenced four librarians for the rest of their lives, and now they’ve abandoned their demand for library records entirely,” said Ann Beeson, Associate Legal Director of the ACLU. “While the government’s real motives in this case have been questionable from the beginning, their decision to back down is a victory not just for librarians but for all Americans who value their privacy.”

To the ACLU this is a victory for that precious “right” to privacy for the ACLU against the “questionable” motives of the FBI. That is the way those that live in ACLU land see things. Of course there is always more than one perspective to the story. Here’s is how the FBI responded.

In May of 2005, the FBI issued a National Security Letter (NSL) to “The Library Connection”. The Library Connection is a consortium that provides back office support to a group of Connecticut libraries. The NSL requested information relating to a single computer that had been used to send information about a potential terrorist threat. The NSL states that the FBI was seeking specific information on any subscriber of billing information relating to a specific computer used within the 45 minute time period on the day the threat information was transmitted from a library’s computer. It is important to note that the information sought had nothing to do with obtaining reading lists of library patrons or any other information that would be reasonably considered intrusive upon any individual’s rights as a library patron. Obtaining information that could lead to the identity of the person who used a specific computer, at a specific time, to transmit threat information would have helped the FBI more efficiently investigate and evaluate an alleged threat involving terrorism...

As I said in the title, the Mainstream Media and the ACLU are so much alike in their anti-war/anti American position, it is becoming difficult to determine whose behavior is more egregious. The fact remains, they are both seeking to derail the war on terror. I heard someone say yesterday, they don't hate President Bush because of the war, they hate the war Because of President Bush, and seek to undermine the very government that allows them the Freedom to exist!

Perhaps Los Angeles Times Editor Dean Baquet Should Coordinate His Story With Los Angeles Times Washington Bureau Chief Doyle McManus?

This is an excellent post by Hugh

by Hugh Hewitt
June 27, 2006 05:39 AM PST

Yesterday Los Angeles Times Washington bureau chief appeared on my program to explain his paper's decision to assist terrorists in eluding capture. Today the paper's editor, Dean Baquet, publsihes this defense: "Why we ran the story."

MANY READERS have been sharply critical of our decision to publish an article Friday on the U.S. Treasury Department's program to secretly monitor worldwide money transfers in an effort to track terrorist financing.
They have sent me sincere and powerful expressions of their disappointment in our newspaper, and they deserve an equally thoughtful and honest response.

The deception begins here. How many readers? Why not post all of their letters so the readers can see? How many subscriptions have been lost?

The decision to publish this article was not one we took lightly. We considered very seriously the government's assertion that these disclosures could cause difficulties for counterterrorism programs. And we weighed that assertion against the fact that there is an intense and ongoing public debate about whether surveillance programs like these pose a serious threat to civil liberties.

This statement is bluntly contradicted by Doyle McManus' statement to me yesterday that no such balancing occured once word arrived that the New York Times was publishing the story. Here's the McManus quote:

HH: Now what I'm wondering, though, is, how did you balance? What probability did you assign to the terrorist tack that doesn't get stopped because of this story?

DM: Well, I can't give you a mathematical formula on that. And as a matter of fact, when we made our decision to publish our story, the New York Times had already published its. So as a matter of fact, we had not had the set of discussions that we had scheduled on precisely how to balance that. So in a sense, I can't tell you how we balanced it, because we ended up not coming to a final decision. Now I don't mean to be disingenuous. We were certainly leaning in the direction of publishing, but we hadn't finally decided to...

It begins with a knock at the door.

For the past year, the Rocky Mountain News has followed Maj. Steve Beck as he takes on the most difficult duty of his career: casualty notification. As Beck and his comrades at Buckley Air Force Base keep constant watch over the caskets of the men they never knew, the Marines also comfort the families of the fallen, and choke back tears of their own. It's all part of a tradition that started in 1775: Never leave a Marine behind. After the knock on the door, the story has only begun.

Dear Mr. Keller: ...John W. Snow, Secretary, U.S. Department of the Treasury

Mr. Bill Keller, Managing Editor The New York Times 229 West 43rd Street New York, NY 10036

Dear Mr. Keller:

The New York Times' decision to disclose the Terrorist Finance Tracking Program, a robust and classified effort to map terrorist networks through the use of financial data, was irresponsible and harmful to the security of Americans and freedom-loving people worldwide. In choosing to expose this program, despite repeated pleas from high-level officials on both sides of the aisle, including myself, the Times undermined a highly successful counter-terrorism program and alerted terrorists to the methods and sources used to track their money trails.

Your charge that our efforts to convince The New York Times not to publish were "half-hearted" is incorrect and offensive. Nothing could be further from the truth. Over the past two months, Treasury has engaged in a vigorous dialogue with the Times - from the reporters writing the story to the D.C. Bureau Chief and all the way up to you. It should also be noted that the co-chairmen of the bipartisan 9-11 Commission, Governor Tom Kean and Congressman Lee Hamilton, met in person or placed calls to the very highest levels of the Times urging the paper not to publish the story. Members of Congress, senior U.S. Government officials and well-respected legal authorities from both sides of the aisle also asked the paper not to publish or supported the legality and validity of the program.

Indeed, I invited you to my office for the explicit purpose of talking you out of publishing this story. And there was nothing "half-hearted" about that effort. I told you about the true value of the program in defeating terrorism and sought to impress upon you the harm that would occur from its disclosure. I stressed that the program is grounded on solid legal footing, had many built-in safeguards, and has been extremely valuable in the war against terror. Additionally, Treasury Under Secretary Stuart Levey met with the reporters and your senior editors to answer countless questions, laying out the legal framework and diligently outlining the multiple safeguards and protections that are in place.

You have defended your decision to compromise this program by asserting that "terror financiers know" our methods for tracking their funds and have already moved to other methods to send money. The fact that your editors believe themselves to be qualified to assess how terrorists are moving money betrays a breathtaking arrogance and a deep misunderstanding of this program and how it works. While terrorists are relying more heavily than before on cumbersome methods to move money, such as cash couriers, we have continued to see them using the formal financial system, which has made this particular program incredibly valuable.

Lastly, justifying this disclosure by citing the "public interest" in knowing information about this program means the paper has given itself free license to expose any covert activity that it happens to learn of - even those that are legally grounded, responsibly administered, independently overseen, and highly effective. Indeed, you have done so here.

What you've seemed to overlook is that it is also a matter of public interest that we use all means available - lawfully and responsibly - to help protect the American people from the deadly threats of terrorists. I am deeply disappointed in the New York Times.

Sincerely,

[signed]

John W. Snow, Secretary

U.S. Department of the Treasury

Mr. Keller's behavior is indicative of the MSM, and is only a symptom of the greater problem.

The problem is that somewhere along the line, the MSM have decided that it is their responsibility to oversee the Federal Government of the United States on behalf of the American people, thus displacing Congress and the Senate.

In doing so, rather than reporting the news as it occurs in an unbiased manner, they themselves have become the news, which creates a huge conflict of interest in that they can no longer provide clear and concise unbiased reporting. Sadly, Mr. Keller is not an isolated individual. This thought processes runs throughout the Mainstream Media.

No worries though. Can you say Formal charges are pending boys and girls?
I thought 'cha could

The New York 'Crimes' is at it again

The New York Times and their traitorous, leaking sources have done it again. (Hat tip: Michelle Malkin and LGF)
This time they're broadcasting classified information on troop levels. Hey, Bill Keller--al Qaeda thanks you:

The top American commander in Iraq has drafted a plan that projects sharp reductions in the United States military presence there by the end of 2007, with the first cuts coming this September, American officials say.
According to a classified briefing at the Pentagon this week by the commander, Gen. George W. Casey Jr., the number of American combat brigades in Iraq is projected to decrease to 5 or 6 from the current level of 14 by December 2007...
...General Casey's briefing has remained a closely held secret, and it was described by American officials who agreed to discuss the details only on condition of anonymity.
I really believe this business needs to be shut down as it poses a significant threat to the security of the United States, and 'the Man in charge' is not willing to cease and desist from his seditious and treasonous acts.
Everyone in this Country has the right to their opinion, but when their behavior directly threatens our troops abroad, they need to be apprehended and sat on.

Lest we forget

There has been an awful lot of sabre rattling lately coming from Iran and North Korea.

There is a reason why we don't think it is in the best interest of the world that they get Nukes. Below is a link that secifically addresses that reason.

If you think that someone who is as militant and radical as ahmadinejad, or as nutty as the NK dude, and whose governments are without the multi levels of 'checks and balances' should be allowed to attain Nuclear weapons, then I'd suggest moving there.

See the first test of a Thermal-Nuclear device from the late 50's early 60's here.

Westboro Hate Cult Will Protest at Tucker & Menchaca’s Funerals!

Of course this isn’t suprising in the least. It is sickening and outrageous however.

The memorial service for PVT Tucker, is scheduled to be held Saturday, July 1 at the following location:

Deschutes County Fairgrounds Expo Center
3800 S.W. Airport Way
Redmond, Oregon

Flags At Half-Staff
Monday, June 26

The memorial service at the Expo Center will be open to the public. A private internment, which is not open to the public, will follow at the Mt. Jefferson Memorial Park Cemetery in Madras.

A small group of people from the Westboro Baptist Church out of Topeka, Kansas have announced their plans to picket the funerals of both Tucker and Menchaca. Members of the church have picketed several soldier funerals in the past.

How To Show Your Support

Cards and letters in show of support to the Tucker family can be sent to the following address:

The Tucker Family

Oregon Military Dept.
P.O. Box 14350
Salem, OR 97309-5047

Nothing is sacred to these freaks! I suggest if you are in the area to go show your support for our fallen. Perhaps consider joining the Patriot Guard Riders and counter protest these sickos!

The Patriot Guard Riders is a diverse amalgamation of riders from across the nation. We have one thing in common besides motorcycles. We have an unwavering respect for those who risk their very lives for America’s freedom and security. If you share this respect, please join us.

We don’t care what you ride, what your political views are, or whether you’re a “hawk” or a “dove”. It is not a requirement that you be a veteran. It doesn’t matter where you’re from or what your income is. You don’t even have to ride. The only prerequisite is Respect.

Our main mission is to attend the funeral services of fallen American heroes as invited guests of the family. Each mission we undertake has two basic objectives.

1. Show our sincere respect for our fallen heroes, their families, and their communities.

2. Shield the mourning family and friends from interruptions created by any protestor or group of protestors.

We accomplish the latter through strictly legal and non-violent means.

Well, it may be time for our friendly neighborhood Marine to demonstrate the effects of the M82A1... OK, so that is extreme, but the fact remains these people are not providing the level of respect deserving to the family of our fallen Soldiers.

Rutherford Institute to Defend Brittany McComb and Sue Nevada High School

Hat Tip to StoptheACLU

This is very good news! There's also a link to her video taped interview from Hannity and Colmes at the bottom.

Via The Rutherford Institute

Attorneys for The Rutherford Institute have agreed to represent a high school senior whose microphone was unplugged by school officials after she began to speak about her Christian beliefs during her valedictory address. When Foothill High School valedictorian Brittany McComb began reading a speech that contained Bible verses and references to God and her faith in Jesus Christ during her commencement speech on June 15, 2006, officials with the Clark County School District unplugged the microphone. Institute attorneys plan to file a First Amendment lawsuit against the school district for having violated Brittany’s constitutional right to free speech and equal protection under the law.

“This is yet another example of a politically correct culture silencing Christians in order to not offend those of other beliefs,” said John W. Whitehead, president of The Rutherford Institute. “Brittany McComb worked hard to earn the right to address her classmates as valedictorian and she has a constitutional right-like any other student-to freely speak about the factors that contributed to her success, whether they be a supportive family, friends or her faith in Jesus Christ.”

Rutherford Institute attorneys plan to file suit in federal district court in defense of Brittany’s First Amendment right to free speech and Fourteenth Amendment right to equal protection under the law.

A Swift Kick For The Code Pink Hero (from Seaspook)

This is about the best letter I've read to date regarding the "yellow Army Lt." who doesn't want to go to Iraq...

From a miltary officer's wife at HomeFrontSix:

1LT Watada,

I read your letter in the Honolulu Advertiser and, as a military spouse whose husband is set to deploy in the next few weeks to do the job you so conveniently have chosen not to do, I feel it is my duty to point out a few discrepancies in your arguments. I would not want you to go to trial with such a lacking defense. You might find yourself with a one way ticket to uptown Fort Leavenworth and that would be unfortunate.

Your assertion that your responsibility is to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States is correct. However, you cannot pick and choose what articles or amendments you wish to protect and defend. You must protect and defend all of them. And that includes Article I, Section 8 which states that Congress has the power “To declare war, grant letters of marque and reprisal, and make rules concerning captures on land and water;” At this point in time, United States forces are currently in Iraq according to the mandate set by United Nations Security Council Resolution 1637 which was passed unanimously and considered at the request of the Iraqi government. Our troops are in Iraq in full compliance with both international and domestic law.

As an officer in the United States military, you do not have the authority to decide what is legal and what is illegal. And your DUTY, with regard to unlawful or illegal actions or orders is to report up your chain of command or to JAG. Have you done either, sir? Last I checked the media is not in your chain of command. Last I checked the media is not the entity that will decide what is lawful and what is not. Your DUTY was to take your concerns to your chain of command or the JAG. To do otherwise is to shirk your responsibility as an officer of the United States military...

A REASONABLE PERSPECTIVE ON IMMIGRATION

Recently large demonstrations have taken place across the country protesting the fact that Congress is finally addressing the issue of illegal immigration. Certain people are angry that the U.S. might protect its own borders, might make it harder to sneak into this country and, once here, to stay indefinitely. Let me see if I correctly understand the thinking behind these protests.

Let's say I break into your house. Let's say that when you discover me in your house, you insist that I leave. But I say, "I've made all the beds and washed the dishes and did the laundry and swept the floors; I've done all the things you don't like to do. I'm hard-working and honest (except for when I broke into your house).

According to the protesters, not only must you let me stay, you must add me to your family's insurance plan and provide other benefits to me and to my family (my husband will do your yard work because he too is hard-working and honest, except for that breaking in part).

If you try to call the police or force me out, I will call my friends who will picket your house carrying signs that proclaim my right to be there. It's only fair, after all, because you have a nicer house than I do, and I'm just trying to better myself. I'm hard-working and honest ... um, except for .... well, you know.

And what a deal it is for me!! I live in your house, contributing only a fraction of the cost of my keep, and there is nothing you can do about it without being accused of selfishness, prejudice and being anti-housebreaker.

Did I miss anything? Does this sound reasonable to you? If it does, grab a sign and go picket something. If this sounds insane to you, call your senators and enlighten them because they are stumbling in the darkness right now and really need your help.

Brittany McComb, valedictorian of Foothill High School in Clark County, Nevada, stood up at her graduation and began to speak. A few paragraphs into her speech, school administrators cut off McComb's microphone. She didn't tell a dirty joke. She didn't curse. She didn't insult her classmates or her teachers. Brittany McComb committed the egregious sin of attempting to thank God and Jesus. "I went through four years of school at Foothill and they taught me logic and they taught me freedom of speech," McComb stated. "God's the biggest part of my life. Just like other valedictorians thank their parents, I wanted to thank my lord and savior." ... read the article Here

The First Amendment:
...The Constitution provides no right to be free from public expression of religion. The relevant portion of the First Amendment reads: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." The basic idea is this: There should be no national religion, because establishment of a national religion would necessitate shutting down other religions...

OK, I've seen this 3 times now, and each time I said I would post it but was then distracted.

I had a conversation a couple of weeks ago with a friend who made the statement “I find it hard to believe you think Christians are being persecuted in the United States". I provided a couple of examples of current events such as the ACLU law suit currently pending regarding the removal of the cross on Mt. Soledad, the attempt to remove 'Under God' from our Pledge of Allegiance, and the recent law suit filed to have 'In God We Trust" removed from future currency.

Well my friend, here is another example. This time the Constitutional right of Free Speech was denied to an American Citizen. I truly feel that the ACLU is, 'by giving the people a voice' (right), attempting to destroy this Countries core values and to intentionally create a state of anarchy for the purpose of overthrowing the Government. There is truly no good that can come from this organization.

Senator Santorum Makes Major Announcement Regarding Newly Declassified Information Concerning Chemical Weapons Discovered in Iraq

“This is critically important information that the world community needs to know” – Senator Santorum

View Senator Santorum's webiste Here

Update:
Negroponte letter can be viewed in PDF format here.
Hat Tip for the letter: Captainsquarters

June 21, 2006Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA), Chairman of the Senate Republican Conference, joined Congressman Peter Hoekstra, (R-MI-2), Chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, today to make a major announcement regarding the release of newly declassified information that proves the existence of chemical munitions in Iraq since 2003.

The information was released by the Director of National Intelligence, John Negroponte, and contained an unclassified summary of analysis conducted by the National Ground Intelligence Center. In March, Senator Santorum began advocating for the release of these documents to the American public.

“The information released today proves that weapons of mass destruction are, in fact, in Iraq,” said Senator Santorum. “It is essential for the American people to understand that these weapons are in Iraq. I will continue to advocate for the complete declassification of this report so we can more fully understand the complete WMD picture inside Iraq.”

But, but, but, this war was based on lies! There were no weapons of mass destruction! Just ask John 'Ketchup' Kerry, or Ted 'Chappiquidick' Kennedy, or Chucky 'cheese' Schummer, or a plethora of other politically motivated "Crooks in Suits".

After Dan found out he was going to inherit a fortune when his sickly Father died, he decided he needed a woman to enjoy it with. So one evening he went to a singles bar where he spotted the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. Her
natural beauty took his breath away.

"I may look like just an ordinary man," he said as he walked up to her, "but in just a week or two, my father will die, and I'll inherit 20 million dollars."

Impressed, the woman went home with him that evening and, three days later, she became his stepmother.

Women are so much smarter than men.

Marines, Sailor to Be Charged With Murder

Wednesday, June 21, 2006
By ROBERT BURNS, AP Military Writer

Source: FOX News

WASHINGTON — The Marine Corps on Wednesday planned to charge seven Marines and one sailor with murder in connection with the April death of an Iraqi civilian, a defense official said.

At Camp Pendleton, Calif., where the eight accused service members have been held in a military brig since late May, officials announced that a news conference would be held later Wednesday concerning the alleged killing of the Iraqi in the village of Hamdania. The announcement did not mention murder or other charges.

The official who disclosed the Marine plans asked not to be identified publicly because the official announcement was still pending... Read Article Here.

WOULDN'T IT BE GREAT TO TURN ON THE TV AND HEAR ANY U.S. PRESIDENT, DEMOCRAT OR REPUBLICAN, GIVE THE FOLLOWING SPEECH?

My Fellow Americans: As you all know, the defeat of Iraq regime has been completed.
Since congress does not want to spend any more money on this war, our mission in Iraq is complete.

This morning I gave the order for a complete removal of all American forces from Iraq This action will be complete within 30 days. It is now to begin the reckoning.

Before me, I have two lists. One list contains the names of countries which have stood by our side during the Iraq conflict. This list is short. The United Kingdom, Spain, Bulgaria, Australia, and Poland are some of the countries listed there.

The other list contains everyone not on the first list. Most of the world's nations are on that list. My press secretary will be distributing copies of both lists later this evening.

Let me start by saying that effective immediately, foreign aid to those nations on List 2 ceases immediately and indefinitely. The money saved during the first year alone will pretty much pay for the costs of the Iraqi war.

The American people are no longer going to pour money into third world Hell-holes and watch those government leaders grow fat on corruption.

Need help with a famine? Wrestling with an epidemic? Call France.

In the future, together with Congress, I will work to redirect this money toward solving the vexing social problems we still have at home. On that note, a word to terrorist organizations. Screw with us and we will hunt you down and eliminate you and all your friends from the face of the earth.

Thirsting for a gutsy country to terrorize? Try France, or maybe China.
I am ordering the immediate severing of diplomatic relations with France, Germany, and Russia. Thanks for all your help, comrades. We are retiring from NATO as well Bon chance, mes amis.

I have instructed the Mayor of New York City to begin towing the many UN diplomatic vehicles located in Manhattan with more than two unpaid parking tickets to sites where those vehicles will be stripped, shredded and crushed. I don't care about whatever treaty pertains to this. You creeps have tens of thousands of unpaid tickets. Pay those tickets tomorrow or watch your precious Benzes, Beamers and limos be turned over to some of the finest chop shops in the world.

A special note to our neighbors. Canada is on List 2. Since we are likely to be seeing a lot more of each other, you folks might want to try not pissing us off for a change.

Mexico is also on List 2. President Fox and his entire corrupt government really need an attitude adjustment. I will have a couple extra tank and infantry divisions sitting around. Guess where I'm going to put em? Yep, border security.

Oh, by the way, the United States is abrogating the NAFTA treaty - starting now.

We are tired of the one-way highway. Immediately, we'll be drilling for oil in Alaska - which will [in time] take care of this country's oil needs for decades to come. If you're an environmentalist who opposes this decision, I refer you to List 2 above: pick a country and move there. They care.

It is time for America to focus on its own welfare and its own citizens. Some will accuse us of isolationism. I answer them by saying, "darn tootin."

Nearly a century of trying to help folks live a decent life around the world has only earned us the undying enmity of just about everyone on the planet. It is time to eliminate hunger in America. It is time to eliminate homelessness in America. To the nations on List 1, a final thought. Thank you guys. We owe you and we won't forget.

To the nations on List 2, a final thought: You might want to learn to speak Arabic.

God bless America. Thank you and good night.

If you can read this, thank a teacher. If you are reading it in English, thank a soldier.

SHALL WE HIRE A MONUMENT ENGRAVER TO GO TO ARLINGTON NATIONAL CEMETERY AND ADD THE MISSING WORDS?

This is from an email I received last night. I cannot verify that the story is true. However, I did verify that the facts in the story are true, and have posted sources for the facts... I smell an ACLU RAT!

A MESSAGE FROM AN APPALLED OBSERVER:

Today I went to visit the new World War II Memorial in Washington, DC. I got an unexpected history lesson. Because I'm a baby boomer, I was one of the youngest in the crowd. Most were the age of my parents; veterans of "the greatest war," with their families.

It was a beautiful day, and people were smiling and happy to be there. Hundreds of us milled around the memorial, reading the inspiring words of Eisenhower and Truman that are engraved there.

On the Pacific side of the memorial, a group of us gathered to read the words President Roosevelt used to announce the attack on Pearl Harbor: Yesterday, December 7, 1941 -- a date which will live in infamy--the UnitedStates of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked. One elderly woman read the words aloud: With confidence in our armed forces, with the unbounding determination of our people, we will gain the inevitable triumph.

But as she read, she was suddenly turned angry. "Wait a minute," she said, "they left out the end of the quote. They left out the most important part. Roosevelt ended the message with "so help us God.'

"Her husband said, "You are probably right. We're not supposed to say things like that now." "I know I'm right," she insisted. "I remember the speech."

The two looked dismayed, shook their heads sadly and walked away. Listening to their conversation, I thought to myself, "Well, it has been over 50 years. She's probably forgotten."

But she had not forgotten. She was right. I went home and pulled out the book my book club is reading --- "Flags of Our Fathers" by James Bradley. It's all about the battle at Iwo Jima. I haven't gotten too far in the book. It's tough to read because it's a graphic description of the WWII battles in the Pacific.

But right there it was on page 58. Roosevelt's speech to the nation ends in "so help us God." The people who edited out that part of the speech when they engraved it on the memorial could have fooled me. I was born after the war. But they couldn't fool the people who were there. Roosevelt's words are engraved on their hearts.

Now I ask: "WHO GAVE THEM THE RIGHT TO CHANGE THE WORDS OF HISTORY?"

This is what I found:

BAGHDAD, Iraq — The bodies of two U.S. soldiers who were reported missing have been recovered, and an Iraqi official said Tuesday the men were "killed in a barbaric way."

At a press conference in Baghdad, U.S. military spokesman Maj. Gen. William Caldwell confirmed that the remains, found late Monday by U.S. troops, were believed to be those of Pfc. Kristian Menchaca, 23, of Houston, and Pfc. Thomas L. Tucker, 25, of Madras, Ore.

This story is heartbreaking.
I heard a caller this morning on the Laura Ingraham show who made a good point but was dismissed by Laura because she misunderstood him. His comment was that the MSM is focusing on the kidnapping and torture of these Soldiers, but the fact that they were found only a few hundred feet from their vehicle indicates that they never gave up! They fought to the end, and torture? Maybe, but I believe these two men inflicted severe injuries to their so-called captors. So much so, that the captors had no choice but to execute them quickly! I could be wrong, but I'll remember these men as heros among heros!

"The sign says long hair freaky people need not apply."

Via Washington Post:

It's right there, under "Extreme Hairstyles," in the 2006 seasonal handbook for Six Flags America employees: no dreadlocks, tails, partially shaved heads "or any hairstyle that detracts or takes away from Six Flags theming."

Braids "must be in neat, even rows and without beads or other ornaments," the amusement park handbook advises.

Maybe I am wrong, but I think that there are a lot of employment places out there that have very similar grooming standards. I used to have long hair when I was seventeen and there were plenty of places that wouldn't hire me because of it. It is the right of any employer to enforce grooming standards that comply with the image they want to portray to the public. It is also the right of anyone that does not want to comply with the set standards of a company to seek employment elswhere.

Femi Manners and her 16-year-old son, Shakir, agreed that he would not change his hair: short cornrows with a small design braided in. Instead, she contacted the American Civil Liberties Union, which is investigating complaints from more than a dozen black employees of Six Flags America.

The complaint is the latest in recent years alleging that private companies or government agencies are violating civil rights with restrictions on ethnic and Africa-inspired hairstyles and beards.

"This is culturally very, very insensitive and possibly discrimination," said King Downing, coordinator of the ACLU's national campaign against racial profiling. "The question is, how long do we have to keep going around and around with this when it comes to people of African descent and the natural style of the hair that they wear?"

So they are playing the race card here? I believe the standards would apply to anyone regardless of race. Most kids that I have met with "partially shaven heads" are white punk rockers. If the park is allowing white kids to have dreadlocks, mohawks, and green hair and only picking on the black kids then they may have a case here. Otherwise, the entire thing is ridiculous.

Wendy Goldberg, national spokeswoman for Six Flags, said the policy has been in place for years. "I understand they don't want to conform, that this is a matter of heritage and pride," she said. "But you can apply the question of heritage and culture and not conforming to piercing, shaved heads and tattoos."

Wendy is exactly right. Any private business has the right to set its own appearance standards. If you don't agree with them, find a job somewhere else. Whats next? Will the ACLU investigate the military for sexual discrimination because they don't allow men to have long hair?

There were a lot of places that I couldn't work when I was 17 because of my long hair. Did I call the ACLU and cry about it? Grooming standards in private businesses has been going on for years in America and it has absolutely nothing to do with race, religion, or prejudice towards minorities. It has to do with an employers prerogative, preference, and freedom to hire who they want or fire whoever doesn't comply with their written policies, and an employee's prerogative and freedom to work wherever they want to. These are called civil liberties, something the ACLU has never heard of. Some places make you wear khakis five days a week, and some make you wear a uniform. I've got a suggestion for these kids if they want to keep their hair 3 feet long. Shut up the whining, and find yourself another job.

The Story of Father's Day

Father's Day, contrary to popular misconception, was not established as a holiday in order to help greeting card manufacturers sell more cards. In fact when a "father's day" was first proposed there were no Father's Day cards!
Mrs. John B. Dodd, of Washington, first proposed the idea of a "father's day" in 1909. Mrs. Dodd wanted a special day to honor her father, William Smart. William Smart, a Civil War veteran, was widowed when his wife (Mrs. Dodd's mother) died in childbirth with their sixth child. Mr. Smart was left to raise the newborn and his other five children by himself on a rural farm in eastern Washington state. It was after Mrs. Dodd became an adult that she realized the strength and selflessness her father had shown in raising his children as a single parent.

The first Father's Day was observed on June 19, 1910 in Spokane Washington. At about the same time in various towns and cities across American other people were beginning to celebrate a "father's day." In 1924 President Calvin Coolidge supported the idea of a national Father's Day. Finally in 1966 President Lyndon Johnson signed a presidential proclamation declaring the 3rd Sunday of June as Father's Day.
Father's Day has become a day to not only honor your father, but all men who act as a father figure. Stepfathers, uncles, grandfathers, and adult male friends are all honored on Father's Day.

'He's Movin'g on up... To the big house'

From: Associated press

House Democrats, determined to make an election-year point about ethics, voted to strip Rep. William Jefferson of his committee assignment Thursday night while a federal bribery investigation runs its course.Members of the rank and file approved the move after Jefferson refused for weeks to step aside on his own, and despite claims by some members of the Congressional Black Caucus that he was being treated unfairly.

Officials said the vote was 99-58. The action must be ratified by the full House, and Jefferson left open the possibility that he might at long last relent and surrender the seat on his own. “I don’t want to speculate,” he said. The session marked the culmination of a drive by the Democratic leader, Rep. Nancy Pelosi of California, to take action against the embattled Louisiana lawmaker, who maintains his innocence and has not been indicted.

“This is not about a court of law. This is about a higher ethical standard, and you know when it isn’t being met,” she told reporters several hours before the meeting.

Jefferson is black, and Pelosi, brushing aside criticism from members of the black caucus, told reporters she had been “more than fair.”

Scientists respond to Gore's warnings of climate catastrophe

"The Inconvenient Truth" is indeed inconvenient to alarmists
By Tom Harris
Monday, June 12, 2006

Article

"Scientists have an independent obligation to respect and present the truth as they see it," Al Gore sensibly asserts in his film "An Inconvenient Truth", showing at Cumberland 4 Cinemas in Toronto since Jun 2. With that outlook in mind, what do world climate experts actually think about the science of his movie?

Professor Bob Carter of the Marine Geophysical Laboratory at James Cook University, in Australia gives what, for many Canadians, is a surprising assessment: "Gore's circumstantial arguments are so weak that they are pathetic. It is simply incredible that they, and his film, are commanding public attention."

But surely Carter is merely part of what most people regard as a tiny cadre of "climate change skeptics" who disagree with the "vast majority of scientists" Gore cites?

No; Carter is one of hundreds of highly qualified non-governmental, non-industry, non-lobby group climate experts who contest the hypothesis that human emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) are causing significant global climate change. "Climate experts" is the operative term here. Why? Because what Gore's "majority of scientists" think is immaterial when only a very small fraction of them actually work in the climate field...

Rep. Patrick Kennedy has reached a deal with prosecutors to plead guilty to a charge of driving under the influence of prescription drugs in connection for his middle-of-the-night car crash last month near the U.S. Capitol.

Two additional charges of reckless driving and failure to exhibit a driving permit will be dismissed under the plea agreement reached with prosecutors.

OK, this is a twist. A Kennedy actually taking responsiblity for his actions; well, sort of. He negotiated to have reckless driving and failure to exhibit a driving permit dismissed, but partial acountability is better than none guess. Anyway, it's more than can be expected from his lineage.

Members of an armed Fatah militia which claimed to have kidnapped an Israeli Saturday transferred the individual in question, a U.S. citizen, to the custody of the Palestinian Authority before dawn Sunday.

The PA security forces subsequently handed the American over to the Israel Defense Forces. Defense officials believe once the militants discovered the person was indeed an American citizen, they took steps to end the matter quickly.

“Apparently, the kidnappers did not want to end up like Zarqawi,” a defense official said.

Marine Says Rules Were Followed

A sergeant who led a squad of Marines during the incident in Haditha, Iraq, that left as many as 24 civilians dead said his unit did not intentionally target any civilians, followed military rules of engagement and never tried to cover up the shootings, his attorney said.

As Marine Sargent Speaks Out, Media "Massacre" Meme Starts Unraveling ...

Staff Sgt. Frank D. Wuterich, 26, told his attorney that several civilians were killed Nov. 19 when his squad went after insurgents who were firing at them from inside a house. Well, this might seem to be a goofy post, but bare with me for a moment.

Yesterday while working diligently at my desk, an alert popped up on my screen indicating a new email.

Well, needing a quick little break, I clicked on it to find an 'easter egg'.

It seems that my boss, the owner of our almost billion dollar company decided that since our boys 'spanked' Al Zarkawi in a more permanent sence, my boss would give our entire company a 1/2 day off.

He also said as soon as we nab bin Laden, we'll get a full day off. So, come on boys, you can do it.

Might I suggest a 'Hot tipped' Tomahawk from the Cole?

Anyway, his generosity gave me the opportunity to play a little golf with Bushwhacker.

ZARQAWI IS DEAD!

by Gribbit on 06-08-06 @ 3:32 am Filed under War On Terror, News

Iraqi Prime Minister Al Maliki and General Casey have announced that it is official that Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi has been killed in a US Air raid. He has been positively identified by finger prints. Also killed in the raid were 7 of his henchmen.

FoxNews reports:

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the Al Qaeda-linked militant who led a bloody campaign of suicide bombings, kidnappings and hostage beheadings in Iraq, has been killed in a U.S. air raid north of Baghdad, Iraq’s prime minister said Thursday.
Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki said al-Zarqawi was killed along with seven aides Wednesday evening in a house 30 miles northeast of Baghdad in the volatile province of Diyala.

“Today, al-Zarqawi was eliminated,” al-Maliki told a news conference, drawing loud applause from reporters as he was flanked by U.S. Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad and U.S. Gen. George Casey, the top U.S. commander in Iraq.

Al-Maliki said the air strike was the result of intelligence reports provided to Iraqi security forces by residents in the area, and U.S. forces acted on the information.
“Those who disrupt the course of life, like Al-Zarqawi, will have a tragic end,” he said.
Khalilzad added “the death of Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi is a huge success for Iraq and the international war on terror.”

The Jordanian-born militant, who is believed to have personally beheaded at least two American hostages, became Iraq’s most wanted militant, as notorious as Usama bin Laden, to whom he swore allegiance in 2004. The United States put a $25 million bounty on his head, the same as bin Laden.

Coulter Won't Buy Into Lauer's Liberal Logic

This is a great post by Mark Finkelstein:

Posted by Mark Finkelstein on June 6, 2006 - 07:57.

While considerable attention focuses on Ann Coulter's more superficial charms, from a conservative perspective Ann's real beauty is her absolute refusal to buy into liberal logic, no matter how pervasive. That independence of mind was on display this morning during her 'Today' interview with Matt Lauer.

Ann was on to tout her new book, Godless: The Church of Liberalism, released today on . . . 6/6/6 - sign of the devil and all that. [See today's open thread.]

The first example came in the the context of President Bush's current push for a constitutional amendment that would prohibit gay marriage. The liberal mantra on his initiative, as exemplified by Ann Curry's performance on yesterday's Today, is that this is a cynical political ploy and a waste of time when there are myriad 'real' issues out there to be addressed.

Right out of the box, Lauer invited Ann to buy into that logic:

"David Gregory said if you ask people what they care about they say Iraq and gas prices. Gay marriages are way down on the list, but that's what the president is talking about and what the Senate is taking up. Why?"

Coulter would have none of it:

"I don't know what people are talking about or how David Gregory knows that. But I do know that gay marriage amendments have been put on the ballots in about 20 states now and passed by far larger numbers than Bush won the election by."

Matt then hit Ann with a classic exemplar of perceived liberal truth - the musings of a WaPo columnist. Lauer:

"Here's how E.J. Dionne puts it in the Washington Post: 'The Republican party thinks its base of social conservatives is a nest of dummies who have no memories and respond like bulls whenever red flags are waved in their faces.' Do you agree with that?

Coulter: "That the base are dummies or that Bush thinks that?"

Lauer: "That he can wave a red flag and they will run to the polls to respond to him?"

Coulter: "They don't need to respond to him. He's not running again."

Lauer: "They want the voters to turnout in the mid-term elections. They don't want to lose control of the congress."

Coulter: "Maybe they want to do what the voters want. Whatever you can say about whether or not Bush has a mandate, the mandate against gay marriage is pretty strong. It passed by like 85 percent in Mississippi. Even in Oregon, and that was the state that the groups supporting gay marriage fixated on and outspent their opponents by like 40:1, it passed even there. There is a mandate against gay marriage."

Lauer: "Do you think George Bush in his heart really cares strongly about that issue?"

Coulter: "I don't know what anybody cares in his heart."

Lauer: "Would you take a guess?"

Coulter: "I know what Americans think because they keep voting, over and over and over again overwhelmingly they reject gay marriage. So why is that a bad thing for politicians to respond to what is overwhelmingly a mandate?"

Ann's rejection of Lauer's liberal logic was again on devastating display a bit later in the interview. Lauer suggested that Pres. Bush's low approval ratings are attributable to Iraq. That in turn engendered the following exchange.

Coulter: "I don't think so. That's the one thing he is doing right and that the Democrats are incapable of doing. That is fighting the war on terror."

Lauer: "But I am talking about the war with Iraq, not the war on terror."

Coulter: "I consider them the same thing. We didn't invade Guatemala."

Cue the rim shot!

Marine’s Father Sues Funeral Protesters

The father of a Marine whose funeral was picketed by anti-gay protesters from a fundamentalist Kansas church filed an invasion-of-privacy suit against the demonstrators Monday.

It is believed to be the first lawsuit brought by a soldier’s family against Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kan., whose members routinely demonstrate at military funerals around the country.

Albert Snyder of York, Pa., the father of Lance Cpl. Matthew A. Snyder (pictured at right), is seeking unspecified damages. The younger Snyder, 20, died March 3 after an accident in the Al Anbar province of Iraq. He was buried in Westminster, Md.

“We think it’s a case we can win because anyone’s funeral is private,” Snyder lawyer Sean Summers said. “You don’t have a right to interrupt someone’s private funeral.”
Members of Westboro say the military deaths in Iraq are God’s punishment for America’s tolerance of gays. They typically carry signs with slogans such as “God Hates Fags” and “Thank God for IEDs,” a reference to the roadside bombs used by insurgents.

The church has inspired dozens of state laws banning funeral protests, including a Maryland law that did not go into effect until after Snyder’s memorial.

Shirley Phelps-Roper, a spokeswoman for the small congregation, said it is the first time Westboro has been sued by a soldier’s family. “We were exercising our First Amendment rights,” she said.

From a Christian’s perspective, this type of behavior annoys me as much as any left wing liberal moonbat rhetoric we hear daily from the MSM. I am not sure why the leadership of the Baptist denominations has not pulled its name from this cult's title. Yes, you heard me right. I believe this church is a cult operating under the guise of Christianity, and needs to be recognized as such.

Officials Conclude Troops Followed Rules of Engagement

Horrific images of Iraqi adults and children have fueled new allegations that U.S. troops killed civilians in the Iraqi town of Ishaqi. But ABC News has learned that military officials have completed their investigation and concluded that U.S. forces followed the rules of engagement.

A senior Pentagon official told ABC News the investigation concluded that the allegations of intentional killings of civilians by American forces are unfounded.

Military commanders in Iraq launched an investigation soon after the mid-March raid in the village of Ishaqi, about 50 miles north of Baghdad...

Why is it the MSM is all over the Marines about the pending Hiditha investigation, but conveniently ignore this? Because I believe they want to see su fail and are affraid that we won't!

HOW TO BE A GOOD WIFE

OK, Ladies before you get yer cockles up, this is totally in jest.
You may have seen it before. I think it is very funny, and no, I don't expect it from Mrs. Gawfer. After JJ's post on his wife Jarhead's Wife , I am a humbled man

Taken from a Home Economics High School Text Book, 1954

How to be a good wife-

  • Have dinner ready. Plan ahead, even the night before, to have a delicious meal, on time. This is a way of letting him know that you have been thinking about him and are concerned about his needs. Most men are hungry when they come home and the prospect of a good meal are part of the warm welcome needed.
  • Prepare yourself. Take 15 minutes to rest so that you'll be refreshed when he arrives. Touch up your makeup, put a ribbon in your hair and be fresh-looking. He has just been with a lot of work-weary people. Be a little gay and a little more interesting. His boring day may need a lift.
  • Clear away the clutter. Make one last trip through the main part of the home just before your husband arrives, gather up schoolbooks, toys, paper, etc. Then run a dust cloth over the tables. Your husband will feel he has reached a haven of rest and order, and it will give you a lift, too.
  • Prepare the children. Take a few minutes to wash the children's hands and faces (if they are small), comb their hair, and if necessary change their clothes. They are little treasures and he would like to see them playing the part.
  • Minimize all noise. At the time of his arrival, eliminate all noise of the washer, dryer, dishwasher, or vacuum. Try to encourage the children to be quiet. Be happy to see him. Greet him with a warm smile and be glad he is home.
  • Some don'ts: Don't greet him with problems or complaints. Don't complain if he is late for dinner. Count this as minor compared with what he might have gone through that day. Make him comfortable. Have him lean back in a comfortable chair or suggest he lie down in the bedroom. Have a cool or warm drink ready for him. Arrange his pillow and offer to take off his shoes. Speak in a low, soft, soothing and pleasant voice. Allow him to relax and unwind.
  • Listen to him. You may have a dozen things to tell him, but the moment of his arrival is not the time. Let him talk first.
  • Make the evening his. Never complain if he does not take you out to dinner or to other places of entertainment. Instead, try to understand his world of strain and pressure, his need to be home and relax.
  • The Goal: Try to make your home a place of peace and order where your husband can renew himself in body and spirit.

There. Now don't you feel more inlightened?

ACLU Defends Pedophiles’ “Right” To Easy Access For Children

Via Indy Star

The ACLU of Indiana filed the suit challenging a new city ordinance that fines child molesters caught near city playgrounds or other gathering spots for children.

Calling the ordinance passed in mid-May unconstitutionally vague, the group said it would make law-abiding citizens unwitting violators of the ordinance and hinder their ability to work, vote and worship.

The ordinance prohibits sex offenders convicted of crimes against children from coming within 1,000 feet of playgrounds, recreation centers, swimming pools, sports fields or facilities when children are around.

This news seems to have quite a few people rightfully outraged this morning. Some of these sex offenders are claiming they can’t go to church because of how close their church is to a playground, or that they can’t work for the same reason. However that argument seems pretty weak when you consider the exeception that is included in the law.

One exception to the ban is if the offender is accompanied by an adult with no history of sex crimes.

I’m sure there are plenty of adults with no history of sex crimes that attend church and are employed at the same kind of places as these individuals. The ACLU are saying that this law is vague, however what sounds more vague is the arguments against it.

Is there any reason to think the ACLU is anything other than anti-American?
