Yet Another Logical Solution
An email from a friend:
Two Proposals Worth Considering...
New Gas Plan... Pres. Bush wants us to cut the amount of gas we use. The best way to stop using so much gas is to deport 11 million illegal immigrants! That would be 11 million less people using our gas. The price of gas would have to come down as a result.
New Immigration Plan... Bring our troops home from Iraq to guard the border. When they catch an illegal immigrant crossing the border, hand him a canteen, rifle and some ammo and ship him to Iraq. Tell him if he wants to come to America, then he must serve a tour in the military. Give him a soldier's pay while he's there and tax him on it. After his tour, he will be allowed to become a citizen since he defended this country. He will also be registered to be taxed and can become a legal patriot in the process. This option might deter illegal immigration and provide a solution for the troops in Iraq, and the aliens trying to make a better life for themselves.
If they refuse to serve, ship them to Iraq anyway, without the canteen, rifle or ammo. Problem solved.
For nothing but self love, we frequently make things much more complicated than they really are.
I am reminded of a story of a truck driver who attempted to drive under an over pass that was 2" too short for his trailer. The truck became so lodged under the overpass, that city engineers were called to consider removing a section of the overpass to free the truck. As they discussed the situation, a little boy on a bike who had been watching the whole fiascle, approached the city engineer and asked "why don't you just let the air out of the tires of the trailer?"
Sometimes, solutions can be as obvious as the nose on our face, yet screaming liberals and politicians look for every opportunity to inflate their self worth. If people want to come to this country by other than lawful means, why not direct them to boot camp, English school and a tour in Iraq or wherever the freedom they seek is being challenged?
